Abia Speaker commiserates with Dr Goddy over mother’s death

The Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Engr Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji earlier today visited Dr Goddy Onyeakolam Achilihu, a globally renowned cardiovascular surgeon and a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, in his country home of Umuohia, Akpaa Osokwa in Osisioma Local Government Area, to commiserate with him on the death of his mother, Late Mrs Nwanyinma Comfort Achilihu who died at the age of 95 years and was buried yesterday, Thursday, 18th November, 2021.
While speaking during the visit, Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji condoled with the bereaved family and urged them to take solace in God because the deceased lived a good and fulfilled life.
The Speaker apologised to the second son of the deceased for not making it to the funeral ceremony owing to other exigencies of state.
"I came to pay my respect to you because of your deep love for our state when it comes to health issues. God has used you mightily to save a lot of people; i therefore urge you to take heart because your mother's life on earth is a testimony," he said.
Finally, the Speaker prayed that God in His infinite mercies give the family the grace and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Responding the Chief Mourner, Dr Achilihu thanked the Speaker for coming to commiserate with him and the family. He prayed that God gives the Speaker the wisdom even as he continues to pilot the Legislative duties in the State.
Hon Abraham Oba, Member representing Aba Central State Constituency, Hon Ike Anyatonwu, Executive Chairman of Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area both joined the Speaker to the condolence visit.
