ABSU students honor Ohafia council chair with leadership award

The Executive Chairman of Ohafia LGA, Dr Okorafor Ukiwe has said that students, in the course of contributing to nation building and security integration, are ambassadors of peace and social engineers.

Ukiwe said this yesterday, May 21st, during an event organized by the Students Union Government of Abia State University, Uturu. The program is tagged "Students Contribution in Nation Building, Security Awareness." 

The Chairman, ably represented by his Chief of Staff, Hon. Dimgba Ejieke thanked the students for choosing a theme that is very sensitive to the country's situation for discussion. 

"At a time when all citizens should be so vigilant in their activities, students should be at the forefront of creating public awareness towards the peace and nation's security integration", he said.

Ukiwe also used the opportunity to urge the students to learn skills while in educational training which will enhance their chances of employment and independent.

The Chairman was given an award of honour as "A Fortitudinous Leader," in recognition of his transformational and people-oriented leadership skill.

Prof. ACB Agbazuere representing the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu and other prominent personalities where also in attendance.
